Organist entertains

MICHAEL Wooldridge, who can often be heard on Radio 2 show The Organist Entertains, will be Scarborough Electronic Organ Society’s guest next week.

Born in Brighton in 1965, Michael won an annual competition to find the young theatre organist of the year in 1980.

In 1984, he won the Ian Sutherland memorial award from the Cinema Organ Society.

Michael has been on television, playing and demonstrating the magnificent Compton organ at the Pavilion Theatre in Bournemouth.

Over the years he has had regular columns in various magazines including Keyboard Player, Organ and Keyboard World and Organ and Keyboard Cavalcade.

Michael can be seen at Scarborough College on Monday, at 7.30pm.
