Scalby Fair week gets under way this weekend with a packed programme of events to enjoy.
The popular event, which attracts both locals and visitors alike, starts this Sunday with the “Best of Thoroughly Modern Musicals Show” at 7.30pm at the community hall in Scalby Road.
Tickets priced at £5 are available from the Nags Head and other village shops. Call into these outlets for tickets to any Scalby Fair event.
Monday night sees the return of the Scalby Fair Run and children’s one-mile race. Registration starts at 6pm at the Nags Head.
On Tuesday there will be a family treasure hunt from 6.30pm, starting at the Nags Head.
On Wednesday, the pub is hosting a wine tasting and barbecue from 7.30pm. Tickets for the event cost £8.
The Scalby Fair beer festival will take place on Thursday evening from 5pm at the Nags Head.
Six local breweries will be showcasing their beers and ciders and barbecue food will be available.
On Friday there will be a party at the Nags Head from 7.30pm with free live music by Soul Rida and a barbecue.
The same night there will be a flower festival preview at St Laurence’s Church from 7.30pm onwards.
The festival will then be open for viewing each day until 3pm on Monday.
Scalby Fair Day will then take place on Saturday June 20 in the High Street from noon.
The fair features a huge array of stalls, entertainment, refreshments and attractions for all the family.
The week-long programme will then draw to a close the next day, on Sunday June 21, with a celebration at Scalby Methodist Church from 10.30am, featuring a free brunch.
