The action begins at around 12.15pm on Tuesday, and the event is hosted by Yorkshire Coast Radio. Teams are judged on fancy dress, pancake flipping technique and the amount of pancake left in the pan at the finish line.

Organiser Nick Taylor said: “We’re hoping for between 12 and 15 teams. We are assisted by Uniformed Services students from Yorkshire Coast College, and the college students also make us the pancakes. The race winners take home, and keep, the Golden Frying Pan, an extremely prestigious prize.”

There is still time to enter – to sign up or find out more, call Nick Taylor on (01723) 232440 or email [email protected] for details.
