Celebrations at Scarborough Hall care home as popular resident Kathlyn turns 100

Celebrations have been in full swing at Scarborough Hall as one of its residents marked her 100th birthday.

Kathlyn Revell was joined by staff, relatives, friends and other residents as she received a telegram from the Queen.

A Champagne reception was held in honour of the birthday girl at the home and residents joined the celebrations as she was presented with a special birthday cake made by the home’s chef.

Among those relatives attending with a visit in the homes designated visitor suite was Kathlyn’s daughter Jane.

She said: “Kathlyn is and has been a fantastic mother and friend to so many over the past hundred years, and it’s wonderful to be with her on this very special day.”

Charlotte Nurse, general manager at the home added: “We’re delighted to be celebrating a truly remarkable woman as she reaches this amazing milestone.

“Kathlyn is such a popular resident who always has an interesting tale to tell, and we look forward to hearing many more.”
