Dial A Ride vehicles zapped by system to keep people protected

Scarborough-based community transport charity Dial A Ride has implemented a high-tech solution to help sanitise its wheelchair accessible vehicles.

Thanks to funding from North Yorkshire County Council’s Stronger Communities fund, The Clothworkers Foundation and Tesco Bags of Help, the charity has purchased a specialised sanitising system.

The Zapptiser system uses a high pressure mist spray to quickly and effectively sanitise the inside of vehicles.

A Dial A Ride spokesman said: “This is just one of the additional cleaning measures we have put in place along with the use of PPE for our drivers and passenger assistants.

“Dial A Ride has continued to operate during the past three months and we would like to thank everyone who has supported us.”
