Residents at a Scarborough retirement community are benefitting from hot meals and groceries delivered directly to their door during the current lockdown.

With many older and at-risk residents at Sanctuary Retirement Living’s Jazz Court choosing to follow Government guidelines and socially isolate in their apartments, they have found it difficult to access local supermarkets.

The team at Jazz Court has begun operating a Tick and Collect service, allowing residents to order essential groceries such as bread, milk and cereals, as well as hot meals, directly though staff using a simple tick list.

Orders are then delivered to residents’ front doors, enabling them to stay safe in their apartments.

Registered retirement living manager Liz Jones said: “At Jazz Court, residents’ health and wellbeing is our absolute top priority.

“Our new Tick and Collect service is a great way for us to help residents stay safe and well, enjoy a hot meal and keep their cupboards topped up with essentials.”
