McDonald's Scarborough and Bridlington restaurants suspend takeaway service while safety is 'reviewed'

McDonald’s has announced that their popular take away service has been suspended.

A statement on the fast-food giants website and social media accounts said: “Following the government announcements, we are pleased to remain open, but with a few changes.

“We know this is a really difficult time for everyone and we really appreciate your patience and kindness, both with our crew and online.

Dine-in and Walk-in takeaway service will be temporarily closed in all restaurants from 11pm tonight (January 5) while we review and verify any additional enhanced safety measures for these services.”

Restaurants across the UK & Ireland will be open for Drive Thru and McDelivery

Click & Serve through the My McDonald’s App will be available at our Drive Thru restaurants.”

The company also warned that smaller teams and social distancing in the kitchen meant that there may be potential delays in being served.

McDonald’s currently has three outlets on the Yorkshire Coast, Bessingby Road in Bridlington, Huntriss Row in Scarborough and one on Dunslow Road, Eastfield.
