In pictures: How one Scarborough street is enjoying bingo, quizzes and exercises while social distancing

Cries of ‘legs 11’ and ‘two little ducks’ have been ringing out across a Cayton street as neighbours do their bit to prevent isolation.

Sam Howes and Gill Armstrong, both of Spring Gardens, came up with the idea of holding socially distant bingo sessions out on their cul-de-sac to help keep their elderly neighbours entertained and in touch with each other. Each resident sits at the end of their driveway, with Gill using a microphone to call out the numbers. As well as bingo, they hold quizzes, armchair exercise sessions and coffee mornings. Once the restrictions on social gatherings are lifted, the residents are planning a street party to celebrate.
