The work has been co-funded by North Yorkshire County Council’s Environmental Locality Budget and Scarborough Borough Council.

Residents are now being invited to give their views on what they would like to see next for the park at a community meeting on Wednesday February 26 at 7pm at Falsgrave Community Resource Centre, Seamer Road.

Those that attend will be able to put forward their ideas and explore the possibility of forming a friends group in the community to help oversee the Quarry Mount Park area, raise funds and hold community events, similar to existing friends groups in other parts of the borough.

Cllr Liz Colling, North Yorkshire County Council and Scarborough Borough Council councillor for Falsgrave and Stepney, who is supporting the initiative, said: “There is a real opportunity for local residents in the Quarry Mount and Seamer Road area to shape the future of Quarry Mount Park and get involved, either by giving their ideas and opinions, or by volunteering to get more involved in the future with other members of their community.”

Anyone who would like to know more about the proposals or requires transport to the meeting should contact Cllr Liz Colling on 07595 733841 or email [email protected]
