“When we heard that the Salvation Army weren’t doing the Christmas Day meal, we thought right, we’ll do something ourselves.”

The company decided to offer a free three-course Christmas dinner for anyone who is lonely, homeless or vulnerable this Christmas.

“It doesn’t just have to be homeless, we’ve been in touch with care companies to contact people who are on their own.

“It could be a family who can’t afford it, although it would be helpful if families could let us know in advance.

“We expect to do around 250 which we’re willing to provide and pay for.

“All of our staff have said they will happily come in voluntarily to help out. We’ve also had lots of people messaging us on Facebook to say they’re willing to come in and help.

“One lady even said: ’I finish work at 11am and I can come straight to you if you need me.’”

Nathan said that the company is not doing this for publicity or to make money. In fact they have turned down offers of donations from individuals.

He said: “We’re not asking for donations, although if corporate businesses want to come onboard we’d be happy to hear from them.

“Proudfoots have already messaged and said they would donate 250 mince pies towards it.”
