“Charlotte wants to do beauty and media make-up so I can see that’s the path she’s heading down. As parents we’re going to support her and make sure it’s safe.”

After submitting some pictures and an application, Charlotte was told she’d been shortlisted in the semi-finals.

“I am so excited,” she said, “it is a great achievement. Miss Teen Great Britain is not just about the prize, it is about making friends, building confidence and making memories as well as raising money for great charities such as Together for Short Lives.

The 15-year-old is now looking for sponsorship from local companies to raise funds for the contest’s chosen charity.

Together for Short Lives supports seriously ill children and their families by making sure they make the most of every moment they have together.

The grand final will be held at The Globe in Blackpool on October 26 and 27. Charlotte is hoping to be fast tracked to it by raising the most funds.
