UPDATE: New details in police appeal to find next of kin of Scarborough man who died

North Yorkshire Police have renewed its appeal to the public to help find the next of kin of a Scarborough man after new information has come to light.

On Monday we reported that officers are trying to locate the family of Simons Curtis Smith who died at his home address in Scarborough aged 70.

The Coroner's Office is now appealing to people in Ireland as they continue their search to find the next of kin of Simon Curtis Smith.

They now believe he may have relatives in Ireland, although it is not known whereabouts.

Can you help officers find the family of Mr Smith?

Police would appreciate any shares with your Facebook friends in Ireland - either Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland - to help trace his family.

Anyone who can help locate any members of his family are asked to contact the Coroner's Office on (44) 01609 643168.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Smith's death.
