Before children headed to the Foreshore to take part in the traditional skipping, teams from local businesses showed their competitive spirit at the race on Aberdeen Walk.

A total of 19 teams took part in the action with Boyes, dressed as characters from Austin Powers, taking home first prize - the golden frying pan.

Marks were awarded for how much pancake was left in each team's pan, the speed they completed the course and how entertaining they were for the crowd.

Highlights from the race included the heat between McDonald's Huntriss Row and CPH, both of whom were wearing hilarious costumes.

McDonald's clad in dinosaur costumes and CPH in homemade house outfits, both of which caused some difficulties with the obstacles.

The overall winners Boyes entrtained the crowd by employing some dance moves whilst taking on the obstacles, dressed as Austin Powers and Dr Evil.
