Whitby off-road biker and friend ready to tackle 380-mile ride in memory of Josh Williamson

Whitby man Pete Rees and his friend Dominic Lewis are to cycle from Edinburgh to Nottingham via gravel tracks in memory of local lad Josh Williamson, who died of cancer.

The pair will tackle 380 miles with 35,000ft of climbing with their camping gear and spares attached to the bikes, unsupported off-road.

They want to raise money and awareness for Bone Cancer Research Trust.

The challenge will take the two approximately five days and gets under way on Monday (Sep 1).

Pete said: “Last year, our community watched as this disease took a young boy.

“In his name, we want to push ourselves through a task that takes us out of our comfort zone and raise some much-needed money and awareness to help stop other children going through this, in Josh’s memory.”
