A COLOURFUL collection of art and textile is on display as a group of Scarborough students exhibit their degree work.
The Yorkshire Mixture exhibition at Yorkshire Coast College Westwood Campus, is a collection showcasing the work of ten BA (hons) Fine Art students.
The show marks the final stage in the their degree and is the culmination of years of in depth research, creative productivity and hard work.
A broad range of contemporary practice within Fine Art in on display in the diverse show as students celebrate their achievements.
Bonita Hodge, principal of Yorkshire Coast College, said; “The standard of work and performance at the degree show has been exceptional.
“We are very proud of our student’s achievements which is a credit to the teaching staff who all maintain their professional links with the art industry so that students at Yorkshire Coast College receive current and up to date teaching.
“The exhibition is a credit to everyone’s hard work and has been acclaimed by all those who have visited it.”
The Yorkshire Mixture features a range of art work including paintings based on different cultures, archaeology, collages, memory, and science.
Sculptures also feature heavily with works based on textile and wool, printmaking, and even hair which was the inspiration behind the degree work of a Scarborough hairdresser.
