PUPILS from a Scarborough school were in the pink during a successful charity fundraiser.
The students at Bramcote School were joined by staff to raise £341 for Breast Cancer Awareness.
The youngsters were given free reign to ditch the uniform for the day and dress down in pink for the occasion for a £2 donation to the charity.
However, it wasn’t just the clothing that made an impact as the school’s kitchen baked pink cakes as a tasty mid-morning snack for a 20p donation.
The school’s lessons also took on a pink feel, with Art classes using the colour to create bright models and pictures.
Deputy headteacher Peter Wilkinson said the schools also enjoyed a visit from nurse Sue Baker, who spoke to the pupil’s in assembly about breast cancer, treatments and the work of the breast cancer charities.
He added: “The children learned a lot and asked some very interesting questions which Mrs Baker answered for them.”
