Plan would demolish farmhouse for homes

Developers are hoping to demolish a Gristhorpe farmhouse to make way for six new homes and associated garages.

The application is for land at Town Farm in Main Street and is due to be considered by members of Scarborough Council’s Planning Committee on Thursday from 1pm.

In a report by Jill Low, the council’s planning manager, she said: “The farmhouse and farm buildings on the land to the rear will require demolition but no application for Conservation Area Consent has been submitted.”

The application has been recommended for approval subject to conditions.
