Scarborough police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a wanted man.
Ross Claincy, 26, formerly of Castle Road is wanted in connection with a number of offences including breaching a court order, assault and shoplifting.
The court arrest warrant was issued on Thursday, August 16 for Clancy’s arrest after he failed to appear at court accused of stealing computer games from the Game store in the town.
Claincy is also being sought in connection with an assault which took place at an address on Castle Road on Tuesday July 3, when a 16-year-old girl was hit in the face. It is believed Claincy may have stolen a diamond solitaire ring valued at £800 from H Samuels jewellers on Westborough on Saturday August 4, and a gold ring from Herbert Brown Jewellers, Newborough on Thursday August 2, which was valued at around £750.
Claincy is white, 6ft tall with a medium build and brown hair.
It is believed that Claincy is still in the Scarborough area.
Chief Inspector Kerrin Smith, of Scarborough Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “if you can help us to locate Claincy, I urge you to contact the police straight away.
“Claincy has already missed one court appearance and he needs to understand that failing to comply with a court’s instructions to face justice is not acceptable.”
Anyone who can help to locate Claincy is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1 and pass the information to the Force Control Room.
