Police probe after dog attacked by another pet near Filey

Police are investigating after a dog was attacked by another pet near Filey.

A Spaniel was being walked by a man and his son along the footway leading past the Beach Cafe at Reighton Gap when it was bitten by another dog, leaving a puncture wound.

The suspected culprit is described as black and white, and similar to the Spaniel in size but stockier.

It was reported as being with four adults and a child.

Police say the dog who was attacked was heading away from the beach at around 4pm on Saturday, July 4.

The incident was not reported to police until some weeks later.

Officers want to hear from anyone with information about the circumstances leading to the dog bite and the identity of those involved.
