Police are appealing for information to trace at least 60 missing tools after a burglary at a garage near Filey.

Among the items taken from the workshop in Primrose Valley are a Carver toolbox containing Snap-On tools, trolley jacks, several socket sets and specialist handtools.

The total value of the items runs into thousands of pounds.

The break-in was reported on Sunday April 3 and is believed to have taken place during the previous night.

One man has been arrested and bailed in connection with the incident.

PC Stephen Bannister, who is investigating the incident, said: “I’d advise anyone in the Filey area who is offered cheap tools to be wary, and to get in touch if they think they may have any information that could help our investigations.”
