THE Scarborough Urban Area Forum is on the lookout for a new chairman.
Nominations for the position are open to anyone who lives in the Scarborough urban area and is not an elected representative for a local authority.
A minimum of five hours per month is required for the role.
The position is set to become vacant as Lindy Rowley is stepping down from the role after three years.
She said: “In the past the forum has held public consultation meetings on a diverse range of topics and issues such as young people’s services, crime and disorder, healthcare and community cohesion.
“Although I will remain heavily involved with the forum as part of the support group I think its time of a change and hope that the forum will receive plenty of nominations for a new leader.”
Scarborough Urban Area Forum is a community led consultation body that engages with local residents to help direct how public services are delivered within the town.
Although development support is provided by Scarborough Council, the forum is led by a support group made up from local residents.
