RESIDENTS have another chance to examine plans for the proposed new Tesco store in Dean Road at the Scarborough Urban Area Forum tonight.

The closing date for people to have a say on the scheme, put forward by Tesco and Assura Properties, has been extended by Scarborough Council until the end this month.

The forum takes place tonight at Scarborough Library and Information Centre in Vernon Road.

An exhibition of the plans will be available from 3pm until 8pm. Residents can drop in at any time to speak to a representative from Tesco, ask questions and comment on the plans.

Scarborough Urban Forum chairman Lindy Rowley said: “The forum will give people the chance to comment on the application that has been submitted by Tesco and give feedback about issues of concern such as traffic, design issues, the impact on neighbours, noise and other businesses in the area.”

Tesco hopes planning permission will be granted by Scarborough Council’s planning committee by April.

Deborah Hayeems, corporate affairs manager for Tesco said: “This is another great opportunity to get feedback from the community and also to answer any questions that people have.”
