Plans submitted to council to build 42 new homes in Filey

Plans to build up to 42 new homes in Filey have been lodged with Scarborough Council.

Ava Holdings has applied for outline permission for the development on land at Brigg Road, near to an existing caravan park.

As part of the scheme, six of the homes would be classed as affordable.

The planning submission states: “The proposed development will include a mix of house types, including bungalows, detached, semi-detached and terraced dwellings of two, three and four bedrooms.”

Access to the site would be via Brigg Road, the application adds.

The applicant also lays out what it refers to as its “vision” for the scheme, stating: “Our vision is to provide 42 high-quality new homes in a well-connected location to the south of Filey.

“The proposed development will be attractive, functional and sustainable.

"It will demonstrate high standards of urban design, through the delivery of carefully designed spaces between and surrounding a range of new house types.”

The outline plans are now out to consultation and one objection to the plans has been lodged by a resident with concerns about water logging on the site.
