A FILEY school has submitted plans to erect new perimeter fencing to improve security.
Filey Infants and Nursery School, in Padbury Avenue, has applied to Scarborough Council to build a 2,400mm high fence.
The plans have been submitted by architects Walker Dickey.
The company said: “Currently, the school site is 50 per cent protected by an existing hawthorn hedge and by timer vertical close boarded fencing.
“The proposed works will see the new fencing infill the school’s existing site between the hedge and the fence.
“The proposed steel palisade fence will be 2,400mm high with an access gate to the existing path.
“The fence will be powder coated green in order to blend with the local context and will help provide a more safe and secure environment.
A decision on the plans is expected this month.
