Robert Goodwill says he will certainly be looking into subscribing to our titles.

"At times like these, particularly when much of the information that seems to be flying around the internet is false or in some cases designed to be misleading, a trusted source of local news like local newspapers is vital,” he said.

As reported last week, our journalism is reaching more people across the UK than ever before during this time of emergency, and we are working hard from our homes to keep publishing the most important news and information.

Our journalists are highly trained and our content is independently regulated by IPSO to some of the most rigorous standards in the world. But being your eyes and ears comes at a price.

We need your support more than ever, and in return, we will continue to cover the news – not only the impact of the virus but all the positive and uplifting stories happening in these dark days.

Our business is impacted in the same way as every other business is being affected.

With the coronavirus lockdown having a major impact on many of our local valued advertisers – and consequently the advertising that we receive – we are reliant more than ever on people buying a copy of our newspaper.

How to subscribe to the print edition

We have arranged a special 20 per cent off subscription offer for people wanting to set up a regular purchase of The Scarborough News.

It’s easy to subscribe.

Visit www.localsubsplus.co.uk, choose the newspaper title, the type of subscription and enter your details.
