Pop-up Cinema Yorkshire is set to screen the film Miles Ahead, Don Cheadle's critically acclaimed movie exploring the life and music of jazz musician Miles Davis, in Scarborough this weekend.

The event will take place this Saturday (13 August) in the beautiful gardens at Woodend.

Doors open at 7.30pm and the film starts at dusk.

There will be a licensed bar and Radio Scarborough’s Jazz DJ Adrian Riley will be spinning jazz hits ahead of the film.

Movie goers can relax with their picnics, blankets and chairs in the natural amphitheatre of Woodend Gardens.

Pop-up Cinema Yorkshire is part of Scarborough based company Sant’Angelo Events who have previously been responsible for the hugely popular Beached Festival, Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre and the annual firework spectacular ‘Starfire’.

Operations Director Mike Lynskey said: “We’re really looking forward to showing the new film. As a musician and trumpet player its right up my street. It’s also great to be working with Scarborough Jazz Festival to promote the screening.”
