PORTRAITS by several artists can be seen at the Yorkshire Wolds Gallery until 1 May.
The exhibitors are:
Sally Gatie and Bren Head, who both trained at Hull University’s Scarborough campus. Bren, who lives and works in Staintondale, specialises in figurative and portrait painting, and landscapes inspired by archaeology and the environment of the Yorkshire moors.
Graham Swift, who is married to TV presenter Sarah Beany. He divides his time between London and their property near Hull. His innovative and unusual portraits have been exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Mall gallery in London.
David Thomas, a watercolour artist who lives near Beverley. He trained as an architect and specialises in watercolour portraits and landscapes.
Jonathan Newdick, an art tutor at York St John’s College, does striking figurative sculptures.
The portrait exhibition will be followed by an exhibition of landscape painting.
