Scarborough’s South Bay will be the backdrop for an action-packed weekend of P1 Powerboat Racing this Saturday and Sunday.
The races get under way on Saturday from 12.45pm to 4pm and on Sunday from 1.30pm with podium presentations at 4.30pm.
Crowds are expected to line the seafront to watch the competitors battle it out in racing boats which can reach speeds of 70 mph.
Robert Wicks, chief operating officer of Powerboat P1, said: “With our fleet of 11 P1 Panther powerboats and more than 40 jet ski riders all ready to begin their quest for national titles, we are aiming to serve up a memorable weekend of sporting action for all the family.”
