SAINT Catherine’s Hospice has a network of support groups across the huge geographical area that it covers.
These groups, run by volunteer supporters, tirelessly raise funds for the hospice in many different ways.
Each year, the hospice’s diary is filled with support group events – from coffee mornings and cake sales, to tombolas and fashion shows and from summer fairs and barbecues to concerts and strawberry teas.
The hospice’s director of funding development David Marshall, paid tribute to the wonderful work the support groups do.
He said: “Our support groups do a tremendous job and their work is very much valued by everyone at the hospice.
“They are the people who set up and organise events in the pubs, the church halls and the hotels, all across our area, providing real grass-root support for Saint Catherine’s.
“Their efforts are very much appreciated and every penny raised goes straight into providing hospice care for our grateful communities.”
