Final preparations are underway for the Totally Socially Conference, which will be hosted in Scarborough.
The event, which will take place on Friday September 19 at The Street will bring together representatives from the social enterprise, charitable and independent business community to discuss how entrepreneurial activity can address social, economic and environmental issues in the community and will welcome delegates and exhibitors from all over the region.
Organisers are pleased to announce a line-up of speakers and workshops for delegates to participate in. These include a presentation from Chris Sands, the person responsible for starting the nationally renowned Totally Locally movement, which seeks to promote independent business as the heart of communities.
Following the Totally Locally theme, Jo Swift from Totally Locally Scarborough will be hosting a workshop considering the question of ‘how to make your town one in a million for just £5’.
Other presentations include Ross Bennett who, along with a group of fellow students, established the inspiring and award winning social enterprise Engaging Education.
Representatives from the School of Social Entrepreneurs and Key Fund Investments will also be presenting.
Other workshops will be delivered from Scarborough Job Match and local social enterprise The Beach.
Co-organiser Jo Swift said: “We are delighted to welcome Chris Sands to Scarborough to address the Totally Socially Conference. His commitment to building prosperous communities through local independent business is the perfect example of how if we all work together we can make our towns and neighbourhoods a better place to live.”
