A GROUP of Scarborough youngsters were treated to a fun-filled puppet show at Hackness Village Hall.

The production of Old Mother Hubbard was presented by the Garlic Theatre company and the visit was arranged by Rural Arts Yorkshire.

The traditional puppet show was enjoyed by children aged from three to eight.

Performer Iklooshar Malara said: “We had a wonderful time. It was a chance for local people to get together and we all enjoyed tea and cake afterwards.

“It’s a very friendly and funny show and the children all got involved. They liked shouting out and got quite attached to Mother Hubbard!

“A couple of them came up afterwards and gave her a hug. They also liked the dog puppet and gave him a pat.”

Garlic Theatre, based in Norfolk, is a visual theatre company which gives shows all over the country and abroad. They will be coming back to Yorkshire in November with a new production called Fiddlesticks.
