Raise a cup for charity

MACMILLAN Cancer Support is calling on Scarborough schools to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Whether it is a private coffee morning in the staff room for the teachers to have a well deserved break before the bell rings, or an event for the entire school to enjoy, raising money for Macmillan doesn’t have to be difficult.

Simply make sure that there is plenty of coffee (or fruit squash for the pupils) and cake and have fun whilst raising money to improve the lives of people living with cancer.

Last year, 4,000 schools across the country held a coffee morning, raising over £755,000 to improve the lives of people living with cancer.

Whilst the official date is Friday September 30, a coffee morning can be held on any day in the school calendar.

There are lots of ways to make it exciting. Involve the pupils and their families by inviting them to bake some nutritious treats for the event.

Registration can be done by calling 0845 602 1246.
