Residents warned after rise in attempted car thefts in Scarborough

Scarborough police have warned residents following a number of attempted car thefts in the Peasholm area.

Officers have received footage of two suspects who have attempted a number of car doors in the Beachville Avenue area last night (Wednesday may 16).

There is also reports of items stolen from cars on Monday May 14 from Nares Street.

A spokesperson for Scarborough Police said: "We have noticed an increase in thefts from insecure vehicles recently, therefore we urge all drivers to ensure that your vehicles are kept locked and secure , and that all valuables are removed."
