People in Scarborough are being warned about road closures that will be in force during the Tour de Yorkshire.
Roads in and around the town will be closed for around an hour as the riders come through, with a rolling road block in force on the B1261 from around noon at Cayton and from around 3.15pm on the A171 at Cloughton and Burniston.
Parking restrictions will also be in place on some of the town’s streets.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire County Council said: “Approach roads to Scarborough are likely to be busy – please allow additional time for journeys.
“We recommend that spectators coming to watch the race arrive early and spend some time in Scarborough both before and after the race.
“Park and Ride services and other bus services may be disrupted as a result of the town centre closures between 3pm and 5pm.
“No car parking is available on the sea front (both south bay and north bay) on Friday May 1.
“Please use other car parks and the Park and Ride services. Parking restrictions will be in place across the race route from the morning of the race until after it has finished.
“Please do not park on the race route.”
