Johnny McGough's Pier Reserves side led 1-0 at the interval, Zac Hansen with the goal after an error by Ayton keeper Alex Glass.

A superb Ian Laing overhead-kick brought the scores level after 55 minutes, but a Jack Brown goal with 20 minutes left on the clock sealed Pier's win and their place in the League Trophy final.

Brown and Bradley Marshall shone for Pier, while Jaymaine White was Ayton's man of the match.

A depleted Edgehill side battled back to beat Filey Town 2-1 in their Harbour Cup semi-final.

Phil Dickens tapped in past Edgehill player-boss Steve Clegg, who donned the gloves for the afternoon, three minutes in to hand Town the lead.

Edgehill levelled after 35 minutes, Danny Collins smashing in from the penalty spot.

Sub Joel Ramm came off the bench for the injured Jamie Patterson and grabbed the winner for Edgehill.

Collins and Jackson Jowett spurned opportunities to add to their tally, but the hosts held out for the victory and a place in the final against West Pier.

Edgehill's man of the match was stand-in defender Matthew Burling, while Phil Warnett also impressed at left-back.

Edgehill Reserves set up a Frank White Trophy semi-final against their third team after a comfortable 6-1 win against Newlands Reserves.

Jon Cairns and Ryan Link hit doubles for Edgehill, with their other goals coming from Aidan Thurston and Josh Fergus.

Stephen Whitaker was their man of the match.
