There's a host of top auction prizes up for grabs at a fundraiser in aid of Scarborough's Stephen Joseph Theatre Outreach programme.

The fundraiser takes place at the Opera House Casino, Scarborough, on Friday November 9.

Proceeds from the event, organised by Scarborough Business Ambassadors in partnership with the casino, will go towards the theatre’s charity Outreach programme.

Top auction prizes will include a week’s stay at a villa in Cyprus, afternoon tea on the House of Commons Terrace, Alpamare tickets, breaks at award-winning luxury accommodation and the chance to be a VIP guest at the Tour de Yorkshire in Scarborough or Bridlington next May.

The roulette spectacular will have a Casino Royale theme, and include fizz and canapes. There will also be entertainment with a magician and

vocalist before the auction, which will be conducted by David Duggleby auctioneers.

Tickets for the event, that starts at 7pm, will cost £25 and are available from the Stephen Joseph Theatre box office on 01723 370541 or www.sjt.uk.com

Peter Wilkinson, chairman of the Scarborough Business Ambassadors, said: “We are extremely pleased to be supporting the theatre to help its community engagement activity with students and organisations. It has had the most successful two years and we are pleased to help extend its community programme, and to be working in conjunction with the Opera House Casino.”

Janet Deacon, borough council tourism manager and area director of Welcome to Yorkshire, who has organised the event with Business Ambassadors director Jo Thompson, said: “The SJT is an amazing venue and its work to promote culture on the coast is outstanding. The Outreach Programme works with, in and for the community, encouraging people to engage with the culture through projects, courses, classes and work experience providing access to all.”
