Scarborough will host a number of organised bonfire events this weekend.
The McCain bonfire and fireworks take place on Friday November 4 at the McCain Sports Field. The bonfire will be lit at 6pm with the fireworks at 6.45pm. Entry is free and on-site parking is £2.
The Ayton Jubilee Committee are hosting their display in Yedmandale Quarry on November 5. The bonfire will be lit at 6pm and fireworks begin at 6.30pm. The Burniston and Cloughton event takes place at Burniston Village Hall on November 5 costing £3 for adults, £1 for children and under 5s go free. Gates open at 6pm, bonfire lit at 6.30pm and fireworks commencing from 7pm.
Police are advising people to attend an officially organised fireworks display. Everyone is reminded that it is an offence to supply anyone under the age of 18 with fireworks.
Anyone caught setting off fireworks in a public place can expect to stopped by the police. They face the prospect of being given a penalty notice for disorder and an £80 fine, or even taken to court.
