Scarborough market to host festive events

THE sounds of the festive season will be ringing out in Scarborough’s Market Hall.

The Old Town school’s choir will be entertaining shoppers with Christmas songs from 11am today, before the YMCA Twilight Choir takes centre stage tomorrow from 10am to 1.30pm.

The YMCA choir will be performing songs and carols alongside characters from the YMCA pantomime, Peter Pan, which is being staged from Boxing Day until January 7.

Scarborough Market Hall and Vaults manager Terry Cullen said: “It’s an absolute delight to be able to welcome youngsters from Friarage School and the YMCA to the market and I hope shoppers come along on both days to support them, as well as Scarborough’s local market. It’s a chance for people to get into the festive mood and pick up a few special gifts at the same time from the array of brilliant independent traders we have here.”
