Christmas in Scarborough officially began when the annual switch-on of the lights in the town centre took place on Thursday night.
An outdoor pop-up cinema, projected above the Thomas the Baker shop on the corner of Aberdeen Walk and Westborough, was in operation, while the cast and young company members of Aladdin performed some songs from the show in a free Pop-Up Pantomime.
Meanwhile, the iconic Coca-Cola Christmas truck will be stopping off in Scarborough as part of its national tour on Sunday between 10am and 5pm.
The truck will be located outside the Brunswick Centre and the area will be transformed into a magical winter wonderland.
People can get up close to the truck and have their picture taken with it, which they can download afterwards.
Children under 12 years old will need an adult to collect their photo online.
This weekend and the weekend of December 13/14, the top of Westborough will be transformed into a traditional Christmas market. The quality stalls, many featuring locally made produce and crafts, are set to tempt with the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas. The market will operate from 9am until 5pm on both Saturdays and from 10am until 4pm on both Sundays.
