SWORD fights, puppet snakes and African drum sessions brought the Dell in Eastfield to life.

They were all part of the Delve Into Nature Day organised by Dell rangers Jamie Whitefield and David Spencer.

Some children scaled a climbing wall, others tackled an obstacle course while others tried their hands at woodcraft.

“I think this is wonderful,” said Beverley Gilmour, who lives in Eastfield.

“The Dell has been transformed and it has made it accessible to the whole community. It is brilliant to have this on your doorstep.”

Also represented was Dawn of Chivalry, a medieval re-enactment group, RSPB from Bempton and the Prince’s Trust.
