AN ANCIENT craft kept Eastfield residents busy as they took part in the latest Dell Rangers event.

Locals got the chance to try their hand at silk painting during the session at Eastfield Library.

Organised by The Dell Rangers in conjunction with Eastfield Library the workshop focused on wildlife and gave Eastfield residents an introduction to the ancient technique before they created their own designs.

Based upon the Batik method of colouring fabrics, the craft has its origins in the far-east and is used to decorate clothing and upholstery.

Dell nature ranger David Spencer, who helped organise the event, said: “The workshop went very well. It was a very popular event and we were pleased with the turnout and the response.

“Everyone really enjoyed it and gave great feedback.”
