Sitwell event at Woodend

MEMBERS of the public are invited to a series of readings tonight from the works of Sir Osbert Sitwell.

The event will be held at Woodend at 7.30pm, following the Sitwell Walk – a sold-out event which forms part of the Scarborough Literature Festival fringe.

There is no admission charge for the readings event. Refreshments will be available for a small charge in the conservatory.

The readings are coordinated by Karen Snowden and will be given by Christine Perry and Jim Bantoft.

Woodend will be open at 7pm and visitors will be able to enjoy the library, where the event will take place.

The Sitwell Society will be holding their annual general meeting on Tuesday June 19 in the Sitwell Library.

More information about the society and its regular events can be found at

The Sitwell family has been associated with Scarborough since at least 1774.
