SPORTING excellence was rewarded at a special awards night.
It was organised for students by Scarborough Sixth Form College and was held at the Old Vic, opposite Scarborough Railway Station.
The list of awards included those awarded to players of the year in football, rugby, basketball, netball, tennis and table tennis.
There were also several coaching awards presented during the evening.
Tom Potter, the college principal, said: “very well done to the students. The evening was well worth attending and very enjoyable.”
The event was organised by BTEC National Diploma Sports students – part of their course included awarding 23 trophies.
Shiona Head, a teacher at the college, said: “I am very proud of the students for organising such an enjoyable and successful presentation evening.”
As well as the principal and teachers from the college’s PE department the event was attended by sports coaches and many students.
A college spokesman said: “The event was to celebrate the sporting achievements with all those associated with the college.
“There was a fantastic turnout for the evening.”
