Scarborough’s annual St George’s Day parade for the district’s Scouting movement took place on Sunday in the town centre.
Scores of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and leaders took part in the parade, which started outside TK Maxx. The march up Westborough culminated with a service at the Alma Parade citadel, led by Salvation Army Major Paul Robinson.
It was Major Robinson’s last St George’s Day service as chaplain for the Scouts; he is taking up a new position in Margate.
At the service Scouting awards were given out, Major Robinson was presented with a gift by District Commissioner Bonnie Purchon and a collection was taken for Scarborough’s Blind and Partially Sighted Society.
