Staff at Morrisons in Eastfield have raising cash for charity - and giving customers a giggle at the same time. The store took part in a regional challenge where each of the 95 stores in the North had to pass a baton to each other without using any motorised transport. The baton was brought to the Scarborough store from Malton and was taken on to the Bridlington store by bike. Deputy store manager Paul Cole said: “In Scarborough we wore fancy dress and went on exercise bikes in store from 9am to 6pm. Myself and store manager Steve Todd went on the tills dressed up as women and the customers loved it. We got some strange looks!” The event raised £500 on the day the store is hoping to raise £1,500 in total, which will go to the Sue Ryder charity as part of a three-year partnership. The exercise bikes were provided by Choices Health Club.
