STAFF at a Scarborough electrical firm emptied their pockets to help their rally-driving colleague raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance.
Paul Vasey, who has amateur rally team VF Racing, collects money at each event he competes in by having fundraising girls sell chocolates.
At the end of the season he had a large supply of chocolates left, so took them to work at Schneider Electric to continue the fundraising.
Mr Vasey said: “My colleague Sue Grayson took it upon herself to sell the chocolates and collect the money.
“She did a great job going round all the staff, and nearly filled two empty whisky bottles. I want to say a huge thank you to her, I wouldn’t have been able to collect so much without her.
“Every year I alternate between collecting for Great North Air Ambulance and Yorkshire Air Ambulance. They are great charities, and play a particularly crucial role in the world of rally driving.”
