Strong winds lead to alert over dangerous tree and unsafe chimney stack in the Scarborough area

Strong winds caused damage around Scarborough today.

Firefighters were called out to reports of a split tree in a dangerous position in a garden in Eastfield at 9.33am.

Crews took no action and left the tree in the hands of the occupant.

At 10.18am, firefighters responded to calls of an unsafe chimney stack on a house in Rillington.


Crews used a nine-metre ladder to make the chimney safe.
