A FLOWER festival is being held at St Mary’s Parish Church in Scarborough until Monday.
The event has been organised by the church’s Friends group and proceeds will all go towards church funds.
Viewings are being held from 10am to 1pm and 3.30pm and 5pm today, from 1pm to 5pm tomorrow and from 10am to 5pm on Monday.
The show will also feature music and refreshments and programmes will be on sale for £1.
Rev Martyn Dunning said: “Each year our festival takes a different theme and this year’s is ‘For All the Saints’.
“We celebrate those Christians who have lived faithfully, those from whom we can learn so much and those who were loyal to Christ despite difficulty and opposition.
“So as we walk around, let’s enjoy the wonderful arrangements of those whose skill is to interpret themes and reflect lives in flowers.”
He added: “We take this opportunity to record our thanks to those who have arranged these imaginative flower displays and to the Friends of St Mary’s for organising this festival, the proceeds from which will help maintain this wonderful place of Christian worship.
“We do hope visitors enjoy both the displays and their time here.”
Thanks were also given to the numerous sponsors and to the musicians for their involvement.
