People in Scarborough are being asked to support armed forces families this Christmas by taking part in the Shoeboxes4kids appeal.
The scheme aims to brighten the festive season for youngsters whose mum or dad is serving overseas this year.
Organiser Kathryn Duck said: “We had some fantastic feedback from last year - it was fantastic. Everyone said what a difference it had made.”
This year the charity is hoping to send out 500 parcels. Filled shoeboxes, or gifts to go inside such as toys or sweets, can be dropped off at The Toy Shop in St Thomas Street, opposite the YMCA.
The scheme is up and running now and will be accepting donations until the first weekend in December. For more information, or to arrange a collection, please call 07732 064678 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
