Tackle Dalby Forest’s Head Torch race

Dust off your trail shoes, grab your head torch and prepare for a challenging run along trails, paths, rugged terrain and woods around Dalby Forest, for the No Ego 2014 Head Torch Race.

After the success of the 2014 head torch races in Dalby Forest where 250 people took part, No Ego Challenge return our Head Torch Race series in the beautiful settings of Dalby Forest on Saturday (Jan 31) at 6pm.

This will be the third in the 2014/15 series after two “unbelievable” events in Whinlatter Forest and Dodd Wood near Keswick.

The five-mile course takes place on forestry tracks and trails through Dalby Forest.

Head Torch races are fun and challenging but don’t forget your sense of humour – you WILL get dirty.

Unlike the Mud races at Penrith and Preston, this is not an obstacle race, apart from ducking to miss branches, avoiding tree roots, running down steep

descents, and of course the weather.

This is a trail race with a difference.

Guided only by your head torch and reflective signage it’s a great event to challenge your body and enjoy a well-known trail in a different light and get out with friends. It’s also the perfect event to keep your fitness levels up during the winter months.

These races are not designed to get you crawling through mud, or jumping into rivers.

T-shirts will be given to the first five men and first five women.

Timing chips will be provided at the event for all competitors.

Entry costs £13/£16 on the night and includes all parking fees and will be four miles unless otherwise stated.
